Cake and Shake - scooponcones.com
Washington Square Park has a fantastic addition to the arch and dog parks — a new cart serving cupcakes and shakes!
We loved the Huckleberry shake, and also loved learning what a huckleberry is (other than a character from Strawberry Short-Cake). Turns out huckleberries are a small, wild blueberry that is more tart and intense in flavor. And that makes them really good in milkshakes — the flavor was big and refreshing.
We also tried the Salted Carmel shake, which was a nice carmel shake but not very salty.
We would be remiss not to mention the cupcakes. They are really outstanding, with exciting flavors like the “Rich Guy”: a mandarin cupcake with fig mousse and candied walnut cream cheese frosting. Yes, it is as good as it sounds.
They have carts at Washington Square Park and outside the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
